Could you imagine waking up or being in the middle of completing an important task and suddenly “IT” hits you? Throughout your life and throughout the duration of your struggle “IT” has looked and felt the same.
What if “IT” was the will of God that provoked or agitated your wound… your “IT.” Could you open yourself up to the possibility that YOUR truth isn’t the whole truth? Or maybe, just maybe there IS hope to be had in the midst of your hopelessness? Can you see the duality of your “IT.” The same thing that pulls and tugs at your heart… CAUSING your pain… is MOST times the same thing that God uses to push you into your proper position.
It’s difficult to see the blessing in our hardship because the adversary STUDIES us and he STRATEGICALLY plans his attacks against us. He already knows what we don’t, so, his job is to distort our perception of the battle and of the outcome. If we ALLOW him to distort our perception than he can stop us from coming into the full knowledge of who GOD created us to be. So instead of rebuking your “IT” embrace it and trust the process. Get into position. What position you ask? THE PRAYING POSITION. Whatever your praying position is GET there. In turn study the enemy and make yourself aware of how he operates. Doing so will help you to be prepared and be able to recognize what is happening. I can GUARANTEE you that in DUE time God will give you HIS revelation and instructions. FOLLOW them… STAY the course!
Take Hannah for instance. She was the first wife of Elkanah. Although he loved and adored her, Hannah was unable to bear children like Peninnah his second wife. Peninah (Hannah’s adversary) was mean spirited and would taunt Hannah out of jealousy. Even though Peninnah was able to give Elkanah children, she resented Hannah because Hannah was Elkanah’s most adored of the two. Nonetheless, the taunting caused Hannah to get into position. Her “IT” kept her faithful and dependent on God. So God used the very thing that hurt Hannah to bless her with. After some time God blessed Hannah to be able to conceive her first child in which she dedicated him back to God. Not only that she conceived more children. “IT” was for her favor but for God’s glory! (1 Samuel 1:2-2:21)
How does this relate to me? The love of PEOPLE was my “IT.” Love was my poison. I just wanted to love and be loved in return. As you may know by now, I grew up in a very unloving and unsupportive family structure. My paternal grandmother passed when I was four and my biological mother when I was five. Although my father raised me, eventually I lost him too. You guessed it… to love! My favorite question to God became… WHY. Why would You allow me to keep going through such a horrible life, loving the ones that hate me? As I was driving one day, I AGAIN, asked God why is that the people I love can’t love me back. What He revealed to me was that I was looking to fill a void that only He could fill. “You have put so much dedication into people… they will fail you every time but you have not given me even half that effort or dedication. Could you imagine the things that I can do through you and the places I can take you… If you only gave me BACK the love I gave to you? I chose you because you because of the heart you have.” I was completely blown away that I heard His voice so calm and so clear. I may never receive the full answer this side of Heaven but God has definitely graced me to understand some of it. My “IT” keeps me in position.
No matter what your “IT” is… God will work ALL parts to cause His plans for your life to come forth. “IT” had to happen!
Prayer: Gracious God, thank you for seeing in us what we can’t see in ourselves. Thank you for knowing us better than we know ourselves. Thank you for creating us in Your very own image that we may walk in greatness. Father, I ask that you would soften the hearts of Your people. Allow us submit our minds unto You that we may line up with Your good and perfect will. Anoint our spiritual eye gates that we may see from Your perspective… our ears that we may hear You speak… our hearts that we may accept Your truth and our steps that we may go Your way. Help us to subject our will to Your divine purpose within us. Thank you for hearing the heart cry of Your children and coming to our rescue. For You are God and God alone, able to do exceedingly abundantly above anything that we could ever ask or imagine. Giving You praise and honor, I seal this prayer in faith. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
