I have to be honest. I did everything I could to avoid touching on this topic. However, the more I fight it the more God brings it to my awareness. Earlier this week, God dealt with me concerning marriage and infidelity. As I was praying for a couple in particular, I told God that I wasn’t even sure what to pray for. I know what it’s like to pray day in and day out that your marriage will be restored and made new and then come to find that it’s just not to be. (Concerning my marriage) First, God reminded me that I was praying from a place of “selfishness” never asking Him what He wanted to happen. I heard the scripture “God will give you the desires of your heart…” and I RAN with it. The piece I was missing was this, IF it’s in HIS will. OUCH! I recall being so brokenhearted that my marriage was really over. I was even more brokenhearted because the victory that I was told belonged to me didn’t look like what I imagined it to be. I just knew that God would not allow my marriage to end. As I prayed and in that moment God reminded me that His victory would always be the end result. So I began to thank God for His victory concerning this couple. Suddenly the Holy Spirit shifted my prayer. I was burdened with the pain of emptiness BUT I also rejoiced because I NOW know the victory of the Lord.
“Tell them that they suffer from a love deficit.” As I continued to pray the Lord continued to speak. He revealed to me that we suffer from an emptiness that needs to be filled but we are looking in all the wrong places. Truth is, the enemy disguises the identity of those voids to keep us off track. We get so irritated and fed up with our spouses and start looking to be entertained elsewhere. While your so caught up in what your spouse did or didn’t do and how he or she didn’t love you, opportunity- the enemies plan- is screaming out for attention. Where did the void come from? It could be from abandonment issues, rejection, low self esteem, anything. But there’s a solution to this; the love of CHRIST! If we allowed the love of Christ to truly dwell in us those voids would be filled. Leaving no room for temptation to successfully over take us. When our own flesh fights against us or outside influences presents itself we would have the power to stand up to it and not take the bait. But see, that’s how the enemy works. He tap dances on our emotions and we feed into it.
Satan’s job is to destroy the dynamics of marriage and family. It’s time to ELIMINATE the devil’s playground. That emptiness deep down in the pit of your soul… you can’t quite put a finger on it but you know it’s there. In fact it’s embedded so deep that it’s causing soul decay. Maybe infidelity isn’t your struggle. Maybe you try to fill those voids with other things. Your exhausted by your drug addiction but you keep using. Your tired of living a double life but it keeps pulling you back in. Only for a moment’s time sexual gratification brings you joy. Your desire to be the center of attention turns everyone away from you but it’s all you have to hold on to. Maybe your struggle isn’t in the form of physical self destruction. Maybe your struggle comes in the form of an incapability. Maybe you have a desire to start a family and have children of your own but your womb has been shut up. In order to break away from that hurt you indulge in self pity and tearing yourself down with negative thoughts.
I’m a witness that God’s love is the power, the healing, the filling that we need to be whole. I have been lifted by the love of Christ and I continue to allow Him to do a work in me. Just today the enemy tried to tap dance on my emotions. I have grown increasingly frustrated with a situation concerning my natural “love” life. I shared with God how I was tired of my “now” because my “now” isn’t a mutual feeling and I wanted to be over it. Here’s what God said to me. “I loved you first, before you loved me. I love you in spite of, I love you regardless and I will always love. What you are looking for out there I’ve already given it to you here.” Just then, I was reminded that I am on a journey of allowing God to be my all & everything.
So many of us are wounded to our souls because of the hurt and disappointments that we have had to endure…. a void has been left in us that we try to fill with drugs, sex, money, lust, ego, adultery and much more which leads us into IDOLATRY… God has laid it on my heart to tell you all that HE IS ABLE…. ABLE to heal our wounds. Only HE can fill that empty space that seems unfillable. We suffer from an extreme case of “LOVE DEFICIT” and our Father is saying we don’t have to. He has already offered His love when He gave His son and Jesus completed that Love when He gave His life for us. It’s His love that lifts us, heals us, gratifies and justifies us. Allow His love to dwell and there WILL be a shift in your spiritual and natural life. If we allow God’s love to dwell within us we will be able to overcome temptation to sin and do wrong. Stand in the authority that God has granted you and proclaim your victory. YOU CAN BECAUSE HE IS!
And God will exalt you in due time, if you humble yourselves under his mighty hand by casting all your cares on him because he cares for you.
~ 1 Peter 5:6-7
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below–indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
~ Romans 8:38-39
PRAYER: Father, thank You that You have not only given us Your love but that You are love. There is no greater joy in life than to know that unconditional unwarranted love is gifted to us through You. Help us to humble ourselves before You and allow us to dwell in Your presence. We need Your touch to heal the wounded places of our souls. We have grown exhausted from our useless efforts and acknowledge that everything we need is in You. Help us to allow You to be enough for us. Fill every empty space with Your love that we may be whole again. Thank You for the end result that is always Your victory. In Jesus’ Precious name, Amen.
